The founders of the largest social media conference in Wales have announced its 2012 date.
Following the success of What’s Next 2011, the informative, high-impact, multi-seminar event designed for SMEs will be held on 6th February 2012 at The ARTIUM, University of Glamorgan, Cardiff.
Over 350 business people from Wales are expected to attend the second event of its kind to hear the latest trends and advice from experienced and influential speakers, including Thomas and Penny Power, Founders of Ecademy, Matt Hodkinson, BBC Correspondent on Social Media Monitoring and Mark Perl, the top-rated LinkedIn trainer in the UK.
Allan Blair Beaton, Founder of What’s Next? commented; “Last year had excellent feedback from the 140 attendees, and this year we’re aiming to continue this success – we’ve got exceptional speakers and sponsors and attendees will be able to get up-to speed on the latest social media strategies, innovations and tactics which will aid them in transforming their businesses.”
Sian Gunney, Founder of Peacock Media Group attended the event last year and commented on how the speakers and group seminars have aided her on further developing her knowledge of how to leverage social media channels such as Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook and Video. Gunney comments; “I left the event not feeling overloaded with hoards of information, but genuinely inspired, energised and I’d learnt an awful lot in a short space of time – I’m looking forward to the event next year.”
Beaton continues, “Social media and the explosion of the social web are growing in ‘dog years’ and it’s continuously evolving – there’s a lot of information out there but it’s making sure the content you use, is the right fit for your organisation. Areas such a digital marketing and using Twitter for growth are great but they need to be understood and executed in conjunction with traditional marketing methods. We will be discussing on how to make the most of these at the event next year.”
Seminars that will be held on the day include; Social Media and the Law, Blogging for Businesses, Mobile Applications, Facebook Integration and Fan pages, Social Media Monitoring, Video for the Web, and Google +.
“Today, social media is playing a key role in business growth and development as well as helping organisations to raise brand awareness”, said Beaton. “At the event, delegates will be able to talk directly with top experts from around the country, on the topics which will have the highest impact in helping organisations to achieve this.”
