Cotswolds hotels specialist Simon Wells got on his bike last weekend – raising money for Prostate Cancer UK.
Mountain bike fan Simon – who is based at Colliers International’s Bristol office – organised a treasure hunt with a difference on Saturday, with clues scattered through the town of Wotton and on the Cotswold Edge. A group of friends and colleagues had two and a quarter hours to bag as many points as possible and scurry back to the start to avoid a time penalty.
Simon, who is from Wotton-under-Edge, said: “It is great mountain biking country and we are hoping to raise at least £500 for the charity, which is way above my target.”
He said: “With one in eight men in my age band being diagnosed with Prostate Cancer there is plenty to do to raise the profile of this destructive disease. The treasure hunt was all about getting out and riding in this wonderful part of the world and making some cash for a great cause along the way.”
Simon thanked Colliers International for making a generous donation and logistical support, Mud Dock Cycles in Bristol for their donation and support and The Wotton Farm Shop for hosting the event.
If you’d like to have a go at the challenge then the map and clues will be on http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/WottonTH later this week.
