An experienced chartered surveyor has joined an expanding property consultancy covering south central England as the economic recovery gains pace.
Rachael Ward has started in the well-established commercial property department at Salisbury-based Myddelton & Major, which covers south central England.
Rachael is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) and also acts an APC assessor for the body.
Dean Speer, a partner at Myddelton & Major, said: “Rachael has wide-ranging experience and expertise in dealing with commercial property.
“Her appointment will strengthen our dedicated and knowledgeable team as we find demand for our services continues to grow as the economy improves.
“As an established high street name since 1903, we have always looked to the future and this expansion means we can move forward with even greater confidence.
“We are delighted to welcome someone of Rachael’s calibre to Myddelton & Major.”
Rachael joins Myddelton & Major from Allsop in London where she spent four and a half years as an insolvency surveyor providing strategic advice on nationwide commercial assets to banking institutions, and disposing of assets which had entered into receivership.
She previously qualified and worked for King Sturge in its Manchester office.
Based in Salisbury, Rachael will join partners Phillip Holford, Dean Speer and Simon Lee, and administrator Jody Williams in Myddelton & Major’s commercial agency team.
Rachael lives near Salisbury and her interests include running, skiing and horse riding.
Rachael said: “I am pleased to join such a well-established and respected firm as Myddelton & Major.
“I look forward to being able to bring my experience gained at Allsop to my new role in the commercial team here.
“The company is going from strength to strength and I am looking forward to making a valuable contribution to its continuing success.”
“Property is very much in investment favour, with the IPD All Property index – a market bellweather gauge – showing a rise of 2.3% already this year, on top of a gain last year of nearly 11%.”
Rachael’s appointment comes as the economic recovery gains pace.
Growth was upgraded to 2.7 per cent for this year in the Budget.
Furthermore, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) recently placed annual GDP growth for the three months to March at 3.1 per cent – the fastest rate since the final quarter of 2007.
Myddelton & Major provides advice on sales, lettings and acquisitions of commercial and residential property.
It also manages a portfolio of commercial property and gives professional advice to landlords and tenants.
