An inspirational talk and charity auction attended by over 50 South West business and commercial property leaders raised £2500 for the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund (RMCTF).
Mark Ormrod – who is a world famous speaker, author of Man Down, former Royal Marine Commando and the UK’s first triple amputee visited Pure Comms offices, based just outside of Bristol, to deliver a motivational talk to business leaders.
Pure Comms are a leading telecoms company with customer across the UK, including Bristol Airport and the auctioneers Bonhams.
Following the speech there was an auction. Prizes were donated by @Bristol, Fishers Restaurant in Clifton, agent to the star John Miles OBE – who donated Noel Edmonds and Carol Vorderman memorabilia, an iPAD mini, a signed Carl Froch boxing glove and many more.
Mark also signed copies of his book Man Down and guests had a chance to talk to Mark one to one.
There were also canapés and drinks were provided by Butcombe Brewery.
Rob Vivian, Managing Director of Pure Comms, comments: “Mark delivered an inspirational speech that made you sit up and take note. The room was captivated by Mark’s story of resolve, determination and success against overwhelming odds.”
Allan Finnie, who is a Director at Pace – a printing and design company based in Clevedon, said: “It was a privilege to meet and listen to Mark. It won’t be something I’ll forget.”
Mark himself said: “The evening was well attended and we raised a sizeable amount of money for charity. I’d like to thank Pure Comms for supporting us and everyone who attended.”
On the night Pure Comms also unveiled an official plaque outlining its support for the RMCTF. Over the coming months it will be hosting more events to raise money for its cause.
