Retailers up and down Bristol’s hippest street struggling to cope with ever increasing business rates are being thrown a lifeline by Business Rates experts at Colliers International.
Specialists from the Broad Quay office have launched a series of free rates clinics through the summer aimed at advising traders on all aspects of their business rates including challenging assessments.
The free clinics have been launched to run alongside Colliers International’s high profile social media campaign aimed at driving increased footfall along Park Street.
Rating specialist Dan Johnstone said: “After launching our Park Street social media campaign, it became apparent many traders in the area are still struggling with their business rates.
“The clinics will give retailers the opportunity to ask questions and understand the business rates system– and more importantly whether there are opportunities to save money on their rates.”
The first free clinic will be held at the Colliers International offices in Broad Quay on Tuesday May 27 from 2-3pm.
Colliers International offered a similar clinic in Bedminster last year.
Dan Johnstone said: “We had positive feedback from the Bedminster Business Rates clinic held last year and we wanted to ensure retailers in Park Street have the same opportunity to check that their Rateable Value is fair.”
“Whether you are running a shop in North Street or Park Street, business rates have become the number one issue for many traders.”
The interactive Park Street social media campaign is the first of its kind in the country having been devised by sector experts Destination CMS in conjunction with Colliers International’s Bristol office.
Park Street was selected for the trailblazing initiative which aims to raise the profile of its shops and businesses using the very latest social media techniques.
