LSH acts on OCS Group disposal of Claro House and Servia House for alternative use

The Leeds office of national property consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) has acted for OCS Group Limited in the disposal of its former industrial and office site on Servia Road, Leeds.

The 1.45 acre site, which has now been sold to Betra Ltd, is divided into two sites off Servia Road. The plot to the north comprises Servia House, a detached three-storey office and industrial building, and a further two-storey office property to the south, named Claro House.

Planning approval has been secured for a student residential development of two blocks, accommodating a total of 298 bed spaces.

Robert Whatmuff, head of LSH Leeds and director of Industrial & Logistics, said: “We were delighted to be selected to provide our services on the project. We worked closely with our client, OCS Group, the purchaser, Betra Ltd and Leeds City Council to maximize the opportunity and regenerate the site. The disposal of Servia House and Claro House will pave the way for a natural extension to the student accommodation next door, resulting in an improved value for our client and more desirable space for students in one of the UK’s most popular university cities.”

Phil Haworth, Estates Team at OCS Group, said: “One of our key priorities as a business is to always maximise the potential of our portfolio assets, which in this case resulted in a successful sale and a promising new development for Leeds. The LSH team’s expert insight ensured the opportunity was maximised, and enabled the best possible result in terms of the redevelopment of the site.”
