New city centre premises for expanding Notts firm

An expanding financial firm has agreed terms at a Nottingham city centre office following a deal brokered by Innes England and Geo Hallam and Sons

Oakbrook Finance, a firm set up in 2011 to provide finance to Home Learning College customers, has taken a 5,255 sq ft office suite at Lock House on Castle Meadow Road.

As a result of rapid growth the company, which provides consumer finance for corporate clients as well as direct finance to consumers, needed to relocate from their place within serviced offices at City Gate.

Sarah Marriott of Oakbrook Finance, said: “Due to the continued success of the business and our ambitious growth plan, we outgrew our original office and had to move somewhere which had the immediate benefit of seating more people but also offered us longer term expansion opportunities.

“We were looking for a larger office that has the capacity for this growth, which offers value for money and is within easy reach of the city centre. We are thrilled Lock House is our new home.”

Lock House is a prominent building on Castle Meadow Road, an area which has seen significant office lettings recently to the Land Registry and law firm Browne Jacobson.

Oakbrook Finance employs 35 people in the city having grown into one of the most innovative consumer finance businesses in the UK, with ambitious plans for growth.

Craig Straw, director at Innes England’s Nottingham office secured the deal on behalf of Oakbrook Finance.

He said: “Due to business expansion, Oakbrook Finance needed to relocate from the space it was occupying within serviced offices at City Gate into its own larger and better quality premises with car parking facilities.

“Lock House has recently undergone a speculative refurbishment, taking it from its previous office layout to a high quality, open plan, modern workspace, making it perfect for the firm to move straight into.

“The fact that the landlord completed a refurbishment before a letting was identified illustrates the renewed confidence in the commercial property market.”

James Hall of Geo Hallam acted for the landlord at Lock House. He added: “Lock House is a prominent office building within Nottingham’s Southside business district, a five minute walk from the train station and city centre.

“We are pleased to have concluded the letting of the ground floor suite to Oakbrook Finance, which followed the completion of speculative refurbishment works to provide open plan comfort cooled offices. Oakbrook Finance join Browne Jacobson solicitors within the building.”
