Katherine Burge, a solicitor with Stratford-upon-Avon based Lodders, is counting the cash – plus the aches and pains – after completing the London Marathon.
In her first, and definitely last, marathon she finished the gruelling 26 miles 385 yards distance in 5 hrs 5 mins.
But it was all for a good cause.
Running on behalf of Lodders, she raised more than £3,800 for the firm’s chosen charity – the Heart of England Community Foundation.
She said: “The crowd were amazing – they helped get me round especially as it was a lot hotter than I had expected.
“It made up for all the tough training on dark, wet and windy days through winter.”
And added: “I have ticked it off my bucket list … but I won’t be doing it again!”
The Community Foundation manages a variety of funds which are given as small grants to groups and projects which are mostly volunteer-led.
Senior partner David Lodder said: “This was a wonderful press-on effort by Katherine.
“Heart of England Community Foundation is a tremendous charity which does a great deal of good work.
“Charitable giving is a part of the Lodders ethos – I am very pleased for her.”
