Energetic creative Daniel Westlake has designs on taking his company to new heights after making a strategic switch to city centre offices.
Today chartered surveyor Banks Long & Co revealed it has leased second floor in Lincoln’s Clasketgate to the web design and development business Artsgraphica.
It’s a great move for the busy, five-strong Artsgraphica team, which has won increasingly impressive contracts over the past few years and which boasts clients from Lincolnshire to London.
Banks Long & Co said Artsgraphica’s new home provides the business with the flexible space it needs to suit its current needs and future growth plans.
Artsgraphica, which offers web design and development, ecommerce shopping, App design, smartphone and tablet solutions, has come a long way since Daniel’s started the enterprise in a Grimsby back bedroom.
“When I needed to take on extra help, I moved into the Innovation Centre in Grimsby, then I used offices at The Terrace in Lincoln one day a week as a testbed for relocating the business, which I moved to Oak House in Waterside South four years ago,” said Daniel.
“Business centres and incubation centres offer easy in-easy out options and are good for fledgling enterprises, but relocating to Clasketgate into premises which we can really make our own, marks a real milestone for the business.
“We now have the flexibility of three rooms, which has given us an administrative area, superb studio space and a meeting room, which is particularly important when we have clients visiting,” said Daniel.
Artsgraphica offers a full range of Internet-based solutions, but Daniel’s team prides itself on its ability to work on more complex and technical sites, which call for excellent programming skills.
It was the fact that the business was winning more work in London and further afield and the University of Lincoln is honing the skills of tomorrow’s web developers, which encouraged Daniel to move his family to the city a few years ago.
“Recruitment is a key issue for us. We are very much a “talent organisation” and having people with the right skills set is very important. We are pleased to have strong ties with the University of Lincoln’s School of Computer Science and two graduates from the School are working with us,” said Daniel.
Banks Long & Co Surveyor Jonathan Purkiss said: “Artsgraphica’s offices front Clasketgate. They are surrounded by a concentration of professional and financial services offices and conveniently close to Lincoln’s High Street.
“They are ideal for a business such as Artsgraphica, which wanted quality space
in a central location, where it could welcome its prestigious clients and also have
room for further expansion.”
