Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO LLP has announced a new Lead Partner for the West Midlands.
Richard Rose, a senior tax partner who has been at BDO for nine years, has taken over as Lead Partner to the 265-strong team in Birmingham with immediate effect, replacing Mark Anslow who is retiring from the partnership to take on the role of CEO at client firm, Pemberstone Ventures.
Marking one year on from the merger with PKF, Richard will lead BDO through its next stage of growth, as it steps up recruitment and aims for 20% revenue growth.
Richard joined BDO in 2005 and has headed up the Birmingham tax team for the last five years. He is also the firm’s national tax spokesperson. He will be responsible for leading business growth across the West Midlands, working with the firm’s 16 partners in Birmingham.
Commenting, Richard Rose said: “Mark has done a fantastic job and has helped BDO become a real force in the market. He will no doubt continue to be a great advocate for the firm, and we wish him all the very best in the next step of his career.
“It’s an exciting time for BDO and I’m very much looking forward to leading the team through our next phase of growth. With larger company audit reform taking shape and a return to form for our region’s manufacturing and services sectors, the market is opening up and providing additional opportunities for BDO.
“There’s been a real shift in business confidence with companies responding ambitiously to the upturn in the economy. We want to continue to be at the very centre of those investment decisions for our clients in the mid-market, to advise them on the opportunities in both domestic and international markets and provide them with the best service around. I know we have a great team in place that can do exactly that.”
Mark Anslow added: “Leading the team in Birmingham for the last seven years has been an honour, one filled with great experiences and great people. It was a tough decision to make but now is the time for me to move on to a fresh challenge and I’m pleased to be able to pass over the reins to such as seasoned professional like Richard.
“With the support of a highly respected partnership and the dedication of the hugely talented people at BDO, I’m confident that Richard will continue to build upon the firm’s success in the Midlands.”
