National law firm Cartwright King has opened an office in Leeds in a strategic move that will extend its geographic coverage.
The firm, which already has offices in Nottingham, Birmingham, London, Sheffield, Derby, Leicester and Newcastle Gateshead, is planning to expand its operations further and the opening of the Leeds office at Aquis House on Greek Street represents its first in West Yorkshire. It will enable Cartwright King to secure a foothold in this area from which it can establish a strong presence and grow, under the leadership of Yorkshire-born Mandip Kumar who is heading up the office.
Cartwright King focuses on a number of particular specialist areas of the law, representing and defending individuals as well as businesses. Its specialist areas include criminal defence; business defence, specifically fraud and regulatory issues; immigration; family and childcare; mental health and court of protection; motoring law; road transport, professional discipline and prison law. Clients will be able to access all of these services from the Leeds office.
The Cartwright King 170 strong team includes solicitors, in-house barristers and Higher Court Advocates. There are plans to recruit further specialists to build the team.
“It is a key part of our strategy to expand our operations and Leeds is the perfect location for the next in our network of regional offices,” said Rupert Hawke, managing director of Cartwright King.”
