Richard Jones has been appointed director of retail agency at the Birmingham office of national property consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH), it was announced today.
Richard, who has 20 years of experience in the retail and leisure property market, has joined LSH from Rowley Hughes Thompson.
His achievements include identifying and acquiring in excess of 250 stores nationwide for Poundland to help build a portfolio that now exceeds 500 stores.
Richard will be using his expertise to help strengthen LSH’s retail team that operates throughout major towns and cities nationally with an emphasis in the West and East Midlands, raising the consultancy’s retail profile and developing its reputation across the region.
Richard said: “I am delighted to join such a well established and dynamic company as LSH.
“My passion for retail, alongside having representing an array of owners, occupiers and developers over the past 20 years, will stand me in good stead for developing new and exciting avenues here at LSH.”
Welcoming Richard to the company, Adam Ramshaw, head of LSH’s Birmingham office, said: “Richard will be a hugely important addition to the Birmingham office, where his excellent experience in the retail sector will ensure that we can continue to develop our work in this sector right across the region.”
He also boasts an excellent track record in the successful resolution of third party arbitrations, and independent experts proceedings for both landlords and tenants alike. Richard studied at the University of the West of England where he gained a degree in valuation and estate management.
His interests include going to the gym, road cycling, motor bikes, running and swimming. He completed the London Marathon for charity in 2011. He also enjoys clay pigeon shooting and regularly competed at county level as well as representing his country on two occasions.
