Andrew Brammer, director of law firm Cartwright King, has won the coveted Nottingham Law Society’s solicitor of the year award.
Head of the firm’s business defence regulatory and road transport teams, Andrew specialises in defending businesses and key personnel in investigations and prosecutions brought by regulators such as the Environment Agency, the Health & Safety Executive, HMRC, Trading Standards and Traffic Commissioners. He has a particular specialism in the commercial road transport industry.
He has been instructed in some high profile cases including those of corporate manslaughter and gross fatal accidents as well as acting in a consultancy capacity for major international household names on a range of regulatory and compliance issues.
In addition as a result of Andrew’s reputation and skills in forensically analysing difficult and high profiles cases, he was appointed as principal partner in the recent trial of William Roche. This resulted in the jury acquitting the defendant of all charges.
Also Andrew was named as a “leading lawyer” in the 2013 edition of the Legal 500 directory and is also recognised by the Chambers & Partners legal directory. He is a member of the Health & Safety Lawyers Association and is regularly invited to speak at forums and events.
“I am absolutely delighted to have won this award,” said Andrew. “It is particularly special as it is from the local law society so is an acknowledgement from my contemporaries.”
The award was presented to Andrew at the Nottinghamshire Law Society Dinner held at Colwick Hall and attended by barristers and solicitors from across Nottinghamshire.
