SERS Energy Solutions Group – a UK leader in energy-saving technology and construction – is moving into one of the best-preserved art deco buildings in Stoke on Trent.
SERS, which is listed in the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 table ranking the UK’s fasting growing private companies, is moving into the three-storey Lonsdale Chambers in the centre of Stoke. SERS has purchased the freehold for the prominent building which is located on the corner of Lonsdale Street and Church Street.
Up to 30 staff from SERS and its associated companies will be moving into the building this month. The company’s marketing, legal, IT and domestic business teams will be based there along with parts of the finance and HR departments. SERS is retaining its office and training centre in Caerphilly and its office in Lockerbie, but staff from its Cannock office are moving to Stoke.
Lonsdale Chambers was built in 1931 and is a prime example of a well-preserved art deco building. SERS and associated companies are moving into all three floors.
In a further development, SERS has become a member of the Longton-based CoRE organisation – the Centre of Refurbishment Excellence. CoRE is a not-for-profit national centre of excellence for green retrofit skills in the built environment. The centre brings together training providers, manufacturers, contractors and trades working towards green retrofit skills in home and building refurbishment.
SERS director Mike Roberts said that CoRE was the UK’s centre of excellence for knowledge and information sharing in the field of sustainable refurbishment.
“We are delighted to be a member of CoRE and look forward to working with other members to share our knowledge and experience and learn from others. That, combined with our office move to such a prestige building means this is an exciting time for us,” he said.
SERS is an expert in the design, supply and installation of energy saving solutions. One of the country’s leading specialists in external wall insulation for more than 20 years, the company also advises on and installs internal wall insulation, conventional heating systems, solar panels and a range of renewable technologies for homes and businesses across the UK.
