A leading commercial property agent has chalked up a string of deals across the city as work begins on the Friargate development.
Reeves & Partners, which has offices in Coventry and Leamington, has assisted seven firms with their relocation from Copthall House, at Station Square, which is set to be demolished as part of a major redevelopment scheme in the city centre.
Reeves & Partners has re-let over 20,000 sq ft of office space previously occupied at Copthall House with firms relocating to nearby premises at Eaton House, Bank House, Park House and The Quadrant.
Kundert Solicitors is the latest company to complete a deal after moving into 2,283 sq ft office space at The Quadrant in the city centre.
The letting was completed on behalf of Kenilworth Investments for whom Reeves & Partners manage an extensive investment portfolio across Coventry and Warwickshire.
Paul Hughes, partner at Kundert Solicitors which has additional office premises in Bell Green, said: “We have had a smooth transition from Copthall House into office space at The Quadrant and felt it offered a great city centre location with other solicitors also having a base here.
“We approached Reeves & Partners who were our managing agent at Copthall House to help with the relocation and after looking at a variety of properties felt that The Quadrant was best suited to meet the needs of the business and accommodate the 17 staff we have working here.”
Richard Pomfret, managing director at Reeves & Partners, said the moves were a tangible sign that the redevelopment of the city centre was happening.
“The Frigate development will have a major impact on both the local economy and the city centre surroundings as it brings together a mix of commercial, civic, leisure and residential space.
“We were pleased to assist a number of firms who have been affected by the start of the redevelopment and the demolition of Copthall House.
“All of the companies we assisted have found suitable office space to accommodate their needs in locations across the city centre and we will also be relocating from Copthall house into office space at Eaton House.”
