Ty Mawr Lime has completed on a purchase of an industrial unit at Brecon Enterprise Park to complement their existing distribution unit, doubling their existing capacity.
In a freehold deal, the company acquired the modern unit off the Welsh Government and will relocate its Technical Sales Team to the new premises so that they can expand the team as interest in sustainable building materials grows.
Ty Mawr Lime Ltd was established in 1995, by husband and wife, Nigel and Joyce Gervis. As well as developing, manufacturing and supplying products, they also run highly successful, specialist courses in traditional and ecological building methods at their head office adjacent to Llangorse Lake attracting more than 600 delegates per annum from all over the UK and abroad.
Stuart Hogg Property Consultants acted on behalf of the Welsh Government in the disposal. Stuart Hogg commented that, “It is good to see the property being purchased by a local company that is at the forefront of ecological and traditional building methods in the UK. We received good interest in the property from a number of parties after a full marketing exercise. Unit 5 Brecon Enterprise Park comprises 9,810 sq.ft on 1.53 acres giving scope for further expansion in the future.”
Joyce Morgan-Gervis, Managing Director said, “This acquisition comes at a very interesting time for the business. We have been trying to raise the profile of sustainable building materials for nearly twenty years. Climate change and government targets to reduce carbon emissions from buildings has suddenly raised the level of interest in our work and products which provide many answers to help to achieve these targets.
The Green Construction industry is forecast to grow at 22.8% per annum between now and 2017. The new unit will ensure that we are able to meet the demands of a growing sector.”
