Retail food chain Farmfoods has chosen Central Park in Severnside, Bristol, as the location for a new 175,000 sq ft temperature controlled distribution centre.
This new facility will be built by Delta Properties’ development partner, Roxhill, as a design and build freehold project with completion towards the end of 2014.
Farmfoods will be the second logistics occupier at the 600 acre Central Park, joining pallet distribution company CHEP UK at the gateway to the park.
Charles Blake, Director at Roxhill says, “We are delighted to be developing this facility for Farmfoods. Central Park is quickly establishing itself as one of the UK’s premier distribution hubs. Delta Properties has invested heavily in the Park’s infrastructure and, combined with Roxhill’s ability to deliver fast track buildings under a unique B8 planning permission, this puts Central Park at the forefront of the regional market. With a new rail freight terminal becoming operational in Q1 2016, the scheme will soon also have national significance.”
Paul Hobbs, Director at property adviser GVA, says, “Timing and certainty is crucial in the provision of new facilities. Central Park ticks all the boxes for distributors looking for an M4/M5 base, even for single facilities up to 1 million sq ft. As the market improves, we know it won’t be long before others join CHEP and Farmfoods at Central Park.”
