Andy Higgs has been appointed to head CBRE’s building consultancy team in Birmingham.
He joins from Jones Lang LaSalle in London, but ran King Sturge’s building consultancy team in Birmingham from 2006 – 2011.
He has extensive experience acting as a strategic property adviser and project manager on multi-million pound schemes in both the commercial and public sectors.
Andy joins CBRE as senior director, heading a team of six whose work includes all aspects of project management and building surveying.
Included in the team is new associate director Alex Herrmann, who joins from JLL in Birmingham.
Martin Guest, managing director of CBRE in Birmingham, said: “With the general improvement in the market, building and refurbishment projects are on the rise. This has prompted us to add new blood to our building consultancy team. Andy is highly regarded in building consultancy circles, whilst Alex is a rising star. It’s great to have them on board.”
Andy Higgs is the third high profile recruit announced by CBRE in recent weeks. Gary Cardin, head of real estate and the planning and development team at Deloitte Real Estate, and Chris Hipkiss, GVA’s head of property management in the Midlands, have been appointed to head CBRE’s Midlands planning and property and asset management teams respectively.
