Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO LLP hosted its first Birmingham M-Club with the CBI this morning (5 March). The M-Club – a forum to help medium-sized businesses (MSBs) grow – focused on the importance of embedding innovation in business.
The event brought together business leaders from across the region to discuss how to break down the barriers to innovation, create an environment where new ideas flourish and take these ideas to commercial success.
Mark Anslow, partner at BDO LLP in Birmingham, said: “To help drive our economic recovery and ensure medium-sized businesses are in the strongest position as markets and technologies continue to shift, companies must put innovation at the very centre of what they do.
“It was evident from the businesses around the table that embedding innovation, anticipating future trends and developing new processes can be the key differentiator between market leaders and their rivals. We’re very much looking forward to helping medium-sized businesses across Birmingham and the West Midlands cement innovation as a key component of their growth strategies.”
Richard Butler, regional director at CBI West Midlands, said: “MSBs are the backbone of the economy but they need dedicated, tailored support if they are to continue growing and creating jobs in the region. That’s why we set up M-Clubs; with a helping hand these firms can become our growth champions of tomorrow.”
