The 157 compact room ‘Hub’ outlet expected to open on Rose Street by late 2015. Hotel operator Premier Inn has announced plans to build a second ‘Hub’ hotel in Edinburgh.
The company said it will open a 157 compact room ‘Hub’ outlet on Rose Street, which is expected to open by late 2015.
Hub by Premier Inn rooms will average around 11 square metres and will incorporate space-saving design.
It’s the second Hub hotel planned for Edinburgh, with a 131 bedroom hotel proposed for the Caltongate development site, which was announced last December.
Premier Inn also plans to open a 127-room hotel at the Caltongate site.
Lawrence McPherson Associates are acting as architectural consultant on brand delivery on behalf of Whitbread for both hotels.
Stephen McGhee, Principal at Lawrence McPherson Associates said “We are delighted to be involved in the second Hub by Premier Inn to be announced in Edinburgh; the news of which follows on quickly after the announcement of the first Hub in Scotland at the Caltongate in December.”
“It is also very exciting to be closely involved in both Hub by Premier Inn hotels in Edinburgh as Whitbread role out this innovative concept outside London.”
The latest Edinburgh ‘hub by Premier Inn’ is a leasehold site and is being developed by Old Mutual Property Fund, managed by CBRE Global Investors and designed by 3D Reid.
