CBRE Birmingham has appointed Christopher Hipkiss as senior director and head of property and asset management for the Midlands.
Christopher joins from GVA, where he specialised in providing landlord and tenant portfolio management and the asset management of offices, mixed use schemes and industrial warehousing for national and international corporate clients, private property companies and pension funds.
Christopher has been instrumental in managing client relationships for a number of national portfolios, including clients from the US, Europe and South East Asia. In addition, he works with developers to establish complex mixed-use schemes, including advising on future developments, setting up service charges and establishing long-term asset strategy.
At CBRE he will lead a team of 11 working for clients including Aberdeen, Carlyle, Threadneedle, Nurton, MEPC and Merseyside Pension Fund.
Martin Guest, managing director of the Birmingham office of CBRE, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Christopher to our Midlands’ team, bringing his significant experience across a range of sectors to build on our expertise. Property and asset management is a key part of the business and we’re keen to build on our platform of major portfolios and buildings such as Two Colmore Square, Colmore Plaza and The Cube.”
Christopher has spent more than 13 years at GVA. He joins CBRE in May.
Christopher is the second high profile recruit announced by CBRE in recent weeks. Gary Cardin, head of real estate and the planning and development team at Deloitte Real Estate, has also been appointed.
