Cooper Green Pooks, acting on behalf of a major pension fund, have arranged the letting of 3/4 Castle Streeet Shrewsbury, a prime shop unit located next to Marks and Spencer and opposite Barclays Bank.
With a sales area of 113.38 sq m (1,220 sq ft) plus upper parts, the shop has been taken by CEX, a national electronics retailer on a new 10 year lease. The asking rent was £60,000 pa.
Charles Howell of Cooper Green Pooks, who handled the transaction on behalf of the landlord said “This lease commitment by the tenants – who already have an existing shop in the town – reinforces Shrewsbury’s position as an important retail centre for multiple traders.”
His colleague, Alice Walton, added “We are aware of a number of similar requirements from major retailers seeking representation in Pride Hill, High Street and Castle Street.”
CEX were represented by Cameron Trafford of Birmingham.
