The regeneration of Shard End Crescent is on a roll following the opening of a new Greggs bakery shop.
The shop, which occupies a prime position in the newly redeveloped area of East Birmingham, has created seven jobs for local people as part of Greggs’ growth plans that will secure over 600 new opportunities in the UK in the coming years.
Shop manager Jackie Martin said: “We’re very proud to be the first to open at Shard End Crescent. The team and I are passionate about freshly-baked food and we look forward to offering many more local customers the very best -right on their doorstep.”
Andrew Browne, Director of property specialists Stoford Retail, which has been at the forefront of the regeneration of Shard End, said: “Greggs is one of the country’s most successful retailers. I am sure that the company’s decision to open here will be a major factor in encouraging other leading names to bring their business to this vibrant suburb.”
Customers at the new Greggs can find a wide range of tasty and great value bakery food, including savouries, sandwiches handmade on the day and delicious sweet treats, as well as soup and hot sandwiches.
An enticing breakfast menu including bacon and sausage breakfast rolls, porridge, croissants and granola yoghurts is also on offer to early risers.
