A leading pharmaceutical company has taken 23,000 sq ft of warehouse space at the Hansteen owned, Treforest Industrial Estate. The transaction is the largest letting at the estate this year and was secured by joint agents, DTZ and BNP Paribas on behalf of the landlord.
Brecon Pharmaceuticals has taken Unit D8.3, on a 5 year lease. The property, which is in a prominent position on the estate, comprises an end of terrace warehouse / production unit with two storey office accommodation and yard.
Hansteen purchased Treforest Industrial Estate at the end of 2010, and have since let vacant space to both new and existing occupiers. Tom Rees at Hansteen, who is based at the estate, commented: “We are glad we are able to work closely with potential occupiers to accommodate their specific property requirements. Our flexible, pro-active approach allows us to meet the needs of our tenants through close communication with them”.
Neil Francis at DTZ in Cardiff commented: “We have experienced a strong level of interest in the estate from a range of occupiers, which endorses Hansteen’s reputation in active asset management and demonstrates the continued strength of the estate.”
Brecon Pharmaceuticals is one of the leading outsource service providers in the pharmaceutical industry, with experience in providing commercial packaging, clinical trials supplies and analytical services to the world’s leading pharmaceutical and healthcare companies. Unit D8.3 will be used as a warehouse base to support Brecon Pharmaceutical’s growth of global distribution of clinical trial supplies.
Peter Belden, Managing Director at Brecon Pharmaceuticals, which was represented by Stuart Hogg Commercial Property Consultants, commented: “We considered a number of modern premises in South Wales and also the Midlands with links to air cargo facilities but opted for Treforest due to the specification of the space available, its communication and transport links.”
Treforest Industrial Estate is located adjacent to the A470 and is less than three miles north of junction 32 of the M4 motorway. The estate also benefits from its own train station and on-site amenities.
