Offices converted from barns at an award-winning business centre are among the premises available from a property consultancy.
Myddelton & Major, which is based in Salisbury High Street, has been instructed to handle the lease of unit 6 at Chaldicott Barns in Semley on the Wiltshire/Dorset border.
The development – a conversion of barns into offices and warehouses – has scooped honours from the Country Land and Business Association (CLA) and Salisbury Civic Society.
Dean Speer, a partner at Salisbury-based property consultancy Myddelton & Major, said: “This is a superb office conversion offering the best of both worlds.
“It is set in 40 acres of scenic woodland but is also in a commanding position just three miles north of Shaftesbury.
“It is on the crossroads of A30 to Yeovil/Salisbury, and the A350 Warminster/Blandford trunk road but the A303 is also just eight miles north.”
He added: “Chaldicott barns have always attracted strong interest from occupiers drawn to the location and quality of the conversion so we are expecting strong interest.”
Chaldicott Barns, in Tokes Lane, Semley, was converted from old farm buildings at the heart of the Blackmore Vale. Many of the original features were retained.
The business centre opened in 2005 and won the CLA’s South West Rural Conversion of the Year award in 2007.
In 2008 it was awarded a certificate of commendation for outstanding work to existing buildings in the Salisbury Civic Society Conservation Awards.
In other activity, Myddelton & Major’s has recently let two-storey offices in Salt Lane in Salisbury city centre.
A local company took the space under the ongoing expansion of its successful business.
Myddelton & Major acted on behalf of the landlord, who refurbished the building before letting.
The activity comes as the economy continues to gain ground with recent figures from the Office for National Statistics showing growth of 1.9 per cent in 2013 – the strongest since 2007.
