St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist, in partnership with Wiltshire Council, has today (30 January) announced that construction on phase two of development at the £35m Castledown Business Park has finished, helping to deliver new jobs and inward investment opportunities for Ludgershall.
The 33 acre employment site, owned by Wiltshire Council, has the capacity to create circa 1,500 jobs once fully occupied. Comprising 33,650 sq ft, this latest phase, Brydges Court, is designed for office, storage and industrial use and is ready for new occupants immediately. The units, which range from 700 sq ft to 6,000 sq ft and marketed by agent, Alder King are available to purchase or rent for immediate occupation.
Peter Davies, Senior Development Manager for St. Modwen commented: “On the back of the successful first phase of development, we’re delighted to have delivered a larger second phase that will help drive jobs and business opportunities in the area.
“These units will offer existing companies room to remain on site and grow, whilst also offering flexible accommodation for new occupiers to be welcomed to the business park. We are also continuing to market the remaining 20 acres at Castledown Business Park where buildings can be delivered to meet occupier requirements to purchase or rent.”
In March 2013, the Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership (SWLEP) awarded Wiltshire Council an interest free loan of £2,535,000 from the Growing Places Infrastructure Fund to bring phase two forward.
Fleur de Rhé-Philipe, Wiltshire Council’s cabinet member for economy and skills, commented: “The completion of Brydges Court is an exciting moment for Wiltshire. This is the second phase of development at the park and highlights not only the success of Phase 1 but also the confidence the Council has in Castledown as a location in which businesses can thrive and grow. When fully completed and occupied the Castledown Business Park, will create around 1,500 jobs with a predicted benefit to the economy of around £35 million”.
