One of the Midlands’ largest family-owned accountants has strengthened its team by adding a new partner.
Richard Clayton will be focusing on accounting procedures and new business development at Baldwins accountants after moving to the expanding company from Baker Tilly in Birmingham.
The 44-year-old was previously at RSM Tenon for seven years looking after clients in Birmingham, Nottingham, Leicester and Milton Keynes.
The experienced Hagley-born accountant has also worked at Shoesmiths in Edgbaston and RSM Bentley Jennison in Telford.
Richard said he would be developing Baldwins’ customer base across the region in a variety of industries.
He said: “My experience is working with engineering, manufacturing and construction businesses, professional services and media companies which are mainly owner-managed.
“I will be helping Baldwins to grow and develop their business by providing business advice and helping with accountancy systems for their current client base as well as bringing in new customers.
“My field of expertise is based on improving management information, establishing management processes and training staff at each business to look after the systems themselves.
“I will also be giving advice on tax planning, profit extraction and the re-structuring of businesses to ensure they gain a competitive advantage.
“This is an exciting time to be joining a forward-thinking company and I will be travelling across the Midlands to spread the word about Baldwins.”
David Baldwin, partner at Baldwins accountants, said Richard was a welcome addition to an experienced management team.
“Richard has built up a wealth of experience in accountancy circles throughout the Midlands over the last 25 years and our clients will benefit from that enormously,” he said.
“We have built a reputation of being able to provide expert advice in all financial areas of running a business whether our client is a sole trader or a blue-chip company and Richard’s skills will be of enormous benefit to our customers.”
