An expanding accountancy recruitment company has taken on a new office in Warwickshire to make room for two appointments of its own.
Wallis Lynch was established in March last year by experienced accountancy recruiter Claire Maclachlan.
The firm specialises in recruiting temporary, permanent and contract accounting staff, from trainees to finance directors, for companies ranging from SMEs to large corporates based in Coventry and Warwickshire and the wider West Midlands region.
Its fast-growing client base has prompted two senior consultants to be appointed along with a move from virtual office space and into its own base within the Rural Innovation Centre at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire.
The Rural Innovation Centre was opened in October last year as part of a major initiative to boost the rural economy and has a range of serviced offices and support available to help new and small businesses in rural Warwickshire flourish.
It is part of the Warwickshire Rural Growth Network, funded by DEFRA and led by Warwickshire County Council on behalf of the Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership.
Claire, a director of Wallis Lynch, said: “The business has got off to a great start and the growing client base has enabled us to take on two senior consultants and move into an office to provide us with the space and flexibility that we needed.
“The big draw for us with the Rural Innovation Centre was the work-life balance that it offered. Being based at Stoneleigh Park means that we are right in the heart of the countryside and people can go out for a walk at lunchtime or use the gym that’s on site. It’s also a great location for our clients and candidates to visit.”
Claire has strengthened the business by appointing former colleagues Mairi-Claire Lenton and David Whittle and together they have more than 40 years of recruitment experience. Her father, Tim Maclachlan, who has a business management background in banking, has also joined as a director.
“I am delighted to have been able to offer Mairi-Claire and David positions with the company as we have worked so well together in the past and it’s great to be reuniting such a strong team,” she said.
“In the longer term, we will be looking to expand our team further and that was another aspect behind our move here as Stoneleigh Park provides us with that room for growth.”
Liz Burkinshaw, manager of the Rural Innovation Centre, said Wallis Lynch’s long-term expansion plans highlighted a benefit of small businesses being based at Stoneleigh Park.
Liz said: “As well as the free advice and support that we offer to help businesses thrive, we can also provide room for growth within the Rural Innovation Centre itself and Stoneleigh Park due to the range of office and commercial space available.
“Stoneleigh Park is being transformed into a centre for rural innovation and science by LaSalle Investment Management and is a vibrant environment for businesses from within any sector to expand.”
