The next Nottingham City Business Club event takes place on Friday 14 February when well known Nottingham entrepreneur Judy Naaké will be the guest speaker.
Judy is probably best known for bringing the St Tropez self tanning range to the UK, building the brand into the market leader within the UK through a combination of strong sales, marketing and PR.
She began in the humble surroundings of her father’s fruit shop but even in her early days she showed signs of future success by demonstrating her keenness to sell! Her experience in the beauty industry saw her key to the success of other brands including Australian Bodycare, Decleor and Darphin and she also launched St Tropez in Europe. Now officially retired, she is still on the board at many companies and maintains interest in businesses including Airbase Airbrush Make-Up which is now run by her son, Lloyd. She is also the chairman of the Maggies Nottingham Campaign Board.
Becky Valentine of Nottingham-based property developers, Spenbeck and one of Nottingham City Business Club’s newest members said: “I had the great pleasure of hearing Judy Naake speak a few years ago and her St Tropez story is one of determination, inspiration and humour. It will strike a chord with everyone and I am very excited to listen to her accomplishments once again at the next lunch.”
“I am really looking forward to welcoming Judy to the club and hearing her story,” said Dianne Allen, president of Nottingham City Business Club. “We are very privileged that she has agreed to speak and share her experiences – I am sure that she will be a popular speaker.”
