Construction firm G F Tomlinson has completed a new state-of-the-art £1.9 million sports centre.
Students at Regent College, Leicester will now benefit from first class sporting facilities, including a state-of-the-art fitness suite, basketball and netball courts, cricket nets and a five-a-side football pitch, as well as additional classrooms.
The keys to the new Ball Hall sports centre have now been officially handed over to Regent College’s principal Paul Wilson.
The concept designed by Ball Hall incorporates a bold and sleek design, which includes photo voltaic panels on the roof, a steel frame, brick and cladded walls and Kalwall translucent windows to provide controlled natural daylight to maximise energy efficiency.
Chris Flint, director at G F Tomlinson, said: “We are very proud to have completed this project, which will give students at Regent College access to fantastic sports facilities as well as extra classroom space.
“Working closely with our client and with all the stakeholders involved to deliver such a wonderful facility has been a pleasure, and we are delighted to officially handover the new sports centre to the college.”
Alan Staniforth, assistant principal –resources at Regent College, said: “We are delighted with our new Ball Hall sports hall, fitness suite, six classrooms and staff room following the completion of building works by contractors G F Tomlinson. This is the culmination of a complex project involving land sale and securing necessary funding to enable the project to proceed. This has resulted in much needed improvements to college accommodation and a brilliant sports facility not previously enjoyed by students at Regent College. The project has been achieved through excellent working relationships between Ball Hall, Daniel Connal partnership (Project Managers), G F Tomlinson and college staff.”
