A leading building contractor has been awarded a £133 million contract by public sector construction procurement, design and consultation specialists Scape.
Wates Construction has been awarded the contract, which runs for a total of four years from January 2014, following a rigorous OJEU procurement process.
This is a regional framework arrangement for empa (the East Midlands Property Alliance) which is managed by Scape.
The aim of empa is to improve the procurement and delivery of construction projects and property maintenance for local authorities saving time and money for them and their council taxpayers.
Wates has been successful in securing the Provincial framework which covers construction work valued between £500K and £7.5M.

Scape has numerous frameworks operating nationally including Major Works; Minor Works; Asset Management, Surveying and Design Services and Project Management and Quantity Surveying. It operates regional frameworks across the wider East Midlands on behalf of empa and its members. The total value of Scape’s frameworks comes to more than £2.5bn.
