Sarah Jones, Marketing Manager at leading UK recruitment and training group Acorn, has been appointed to the Cardiff & Vale Young Enterprise Board.
A psychology graduate and qualified Marketer, Cardiff-born Sarah, 28, will bring her marketing expertise to help support the Enterprise Board’s events and company’s programme.
She joined the Newport-based Acorn Group in 2006 after working in marketing within the financial services sector, and has since achieved her Chartered Institute of Marketing Post-Grad Diploma from Newport University.
Young Enterprise Wales is one of 12 Young Enterprise regions across the UK, and each year delivers inspiring enterprise education programmes to more than 4,500 students in Wales that help shape their future by providing them with the skills and experience of the world of business.
Acorn’s recent sponsorship of this year’s Young Enterprise Wales Awards ensured that all 70 finalists at the awards finals received a medal in recognition of their achievement.
Sarah, who lives in Cardiff Bay, said: “I hope to be able to share some of my marketing expertise and experience with the Young Enterprise Board and to help raise awareness of its activities.
Having attended the Young Enterprise Wales Awards last June, I was inspired by the hard work and effort the students and YE staff put into everything they do and I’m very excited to get involved.”
Anne Colwill, Senior Manager of Young Enterprise Wales said: “Young Enterprise is delighted to welcome Sarah to the Cardiff and Vale Board. Her skills and experience will be a huge asset in promoting the aspirations of the charity and helping local students develop life skills from our programmes. We are very grateful to the Acorn Group for supporting the mission of Young Enterprise, which is to build a connected world of young people, business volunteers and educators, inspiring each other to succeed through enterprise.”
