New aerial images of Swansea University’s £450m Bay Campus development have today been released by land owner and UK’s leading regeneration specialist, St. Modwen. Since construction began in May (2013) on the 65 acre former BP Transit site, over 80,000 m³ (cubic metres) of stone has been brought onto site to provide a raised ground level and over 2,000 foundation piles have been installed – laid end to end this is enough to stretch across the Severn Bridge five times.
The Bay Campus, situated off Fabian Way on the eastern approach into Swansea, will be opening its doors to students from September 2015 and will have the distinction of being one of the few global universities with direct access onto a beach and its own seafront promenade.
