Two local charities have been presented with over £1000 each by a Bournemouth accountancy firm.
Saffery Champness, based at Midland House in Poole Road, raised the funds at its annual Partners Summer Conference which was held this year in Bournemouth. Both The Dorset Wildlife Fund and local children’s hospice Julia’s House were given £1,185 for their respective causes.
The charities were chosen by staff at the Bournemouth office who were asked to nominate organisations to receive donations.
David Macey, senior partner at Saffery Champness, said: “We are delighted to present such fantastic amounts to these great local causes.
“Julia’s House is a remarkable charity which receives little government funding so this money is vital for providing activity boxes, multi-sensory learning, carers and nurses for children at the hospice and in the local area.
“The Dorset Wildlife Fund will be using the donation for its Upton Heath Fire Emergency Appeal which is aiming to restore the Upton Heath nature reserve destroyed by a tragic fire.”
David continued: “At Saffery Champness we enjoy taking an interest in the local community and look forward to supporting more organisations in the region soon.”
