JF Finnegan has secured two new tenants at its 25,000 sq ft Elizabeth House office building on Queen Street in Leeds as the Leeds, York & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce and Stanley Davis Group Limited have signed up for a total of 6,652 sq ft of offices on five year leases.
Both 3,326 sq ft deals were completed within one week by Knight Frank’s Leeds office who represented JF Finnegan. Savills acted for the Chamber of Commerce and Stanley Davis was unrepresented.
The two tenants are relocating from White Rose House on York Place which is being demolished to make way for the new No 6 Queen Street office scheme which, upon completion, will further enhance the strong appeal of the City’s traditional office core.
JF Finnegan acquired Elizabeth House in 2011 and undertook a comprehensive Grade A refurbishment programme on the whole building to transform it into a new head office for law firm Clarion who now occupy 15,000 sq ft within the building. Following the two new lettings, just 4,000 sq ft remains available within the building of which 2,000 sq ft is expected to shortly go under offer.
Elizabeth Ridler, Partner at Knight Frank, said; “Both occupiers needed to vacate their existing space before Christmas and we reacted very quickly to meet their requirements. With the continued investment into the refurbishment of properties in this traditional business quarter of Leeds, the whole area around Queen Street is on the up and we are already dealing with keen interest in the remaining space at Elizabeth House.”
Nick Gillott, Director of JF Finnegan, said; “We are delighted with how quickly these deals were concluded and to be able to welcome yet more high profile, professional tenants to this flagship Leeds scheme. We were confident that the quality of accommodation the refurbishment delivered, along with the building’s key location, would appeal to occupiers and are proud to be playing a role in the ongoing success of the Queen Street area of the city.”
Len Cruddas, Chief Executive at the Leeds, York & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, said; “We were keen to stay within this area of the City and were impressed with how quickly Savills found us a suitable new home. At present we work over three floors and the move will enable all our staff to work on the same floor which will enhance our working environment. We are looking forward to moving in before Christmas.”
Knight Frank is joint agent with Bowcliffe LLP on Elizabeth House.
