Jones Lang LaSalle has been appointed to market the Wet ‘n’ Wild water park in North Tyneside. The company which operated the water park entered administration on 14 October 2013 with Toby Underwood and Ian Green, partners at PwC, being appointed as joint administrators.
The water park is a well-established indoor leisure facility, which when it opened in 1993 claimed to be the largest water park of its kind in the UK, it features 10 slides, a wave machine and jacuzzis.
Harry Hawksby, Director at Jones Lang LaSalle, said: “We are keen to hear from prospective purchasers with an interest in acquiring the property, which through a programme of improvements could potentially offer a lucrative business opportunity. The water park will continue to be maintained whilst a buyer is sought and I would ask interested parties to contact us as soon as possible.”
Located adjacent to Royal Quays Retail Outlet Centre and the Port of Tyne ferry terminal, close to the A19 Tyne Tunnel, this large site is readily accessible from across the North East.
Harry Hawksby added: “The site dynamics are such that we have already received positive interest from a range of potential investor purchasers.”
