TC Consult, leading Welsh project and cost consultancy practice, has acquired Cardiff-based quantity surveyors, Banks Wood & Partners (Wales) Ltd.
As part of the deal, TC Consult will be relocating its offices from Newport to Cathedral Road, Cardiff.
From January 2014 the acquisition will see both companies being located in a single Cardiff city-centre office to offer enhanced consultancy services throughout south Wales and the rest of the UK. TC Consult was established in Newport by Paul Tambini and David Champs, and the firm will retain a strong client presence in the area while supporting the city’s ongoing regeneration plans.
Paul Tambini, director at TC Consult said:
“This is a bold step for us and one that will add real value to our combined client base across the construction industry, both locally and nationally. The wealth of experience David Thomas brings from Banks Wood with his hugely experienced quantity surveying team will significantly add to the strength and depth of the services TC Consult provide.”
David Thomas, founder of Banks Wood & Partners (Wales) said:
“The Banks Wood name is well respected and established in the Welsh marketplace, with many public and private sector clients. The acquisition will also enable us to add to our existing services portfolio, further maximising growth opportunities.
“I am looking forward to working with TC Consult’s directors.TC Consult’s project management skills will enable us to offer a one-stop cost and project management service to our clients.”
For the short term the two companies will continue to trade under their existing names.
