Developers Terramond have made swift progress at Rockingham Park, its new Employment Park in Avonmouth. Construction work on the access road to open up the 8.5 acre site is underway and a 2 acre plot of land is already under offer to a national business looking to expand its Bristol operation.
Rockingham Park on Smoke Lane in Avonmouth has planning consent for up to 160,000 sq ft of employment use. Plots of land are available for businesses to undertake their own development or commission bespoke premises on a design and build basis up to approximately 60,000 sq ft.
Huw Thomas, director at Terramond says: “Interest from occupiers has been very encouraging and confirms that our start on site earlier this year was well-timed to coincide with growing economic confidence. We are very pleased to have one plot already under offer.”
Andrew Ridler, industrial partner at Alder King, added: “Demand for good quality modern space continues to outstrip supply, making it difficult for businesses to expand at this critical point in our economic recovery. Rockingham Park opens up opportunities for businesses looking to specify exactly what they require, whether it’s an area of hard-standing, a bespoke building, a concrete yard or an industrial unit.
Malcolm Gunter of joint agents Williams Gunter Hardwick commented: “The site would suit a variety of employment uses, in particular lower density occupiers, for example builders merchants, plant and transport operators, businesses that often find it difficult to find available premises, or alternatively conventional industrial space ranging from 10,000 to 60,000 sq ft.”
