A Midlands accountancy firm has three reasons to be cheerful ahead of its tenth anniversary in business.
Spencer Gardner Dickins has strengthened its operations by bringing in experienced tax consultant Jayne Hutchings, while three of its team have celebrated exam success.
The firm, which was launched in 2004 by partners Paul Spencer, Bryan Gardner and Paul Dickins, will also kick-off a series of activities to mark a decade in business later this year.
Jayne is working with Spencer Gardner Dickins following 12 and a half years as a tax director with BDO in Birmingham.
The move will see Jayne link up again with former colleagues Paul Spencer and David Thomas having worked with them previously as part of a successful team in a major national accountancy firm.
“This is an exciting opportunity to work with Spencer Gardner Dickins,” she said.
“I know Paul and David extremely well from working together in the past and know how well they and the other partners have driven Spencer Gardner Dickins forward from a start-up to being a regional force.”
Jayne, who lives in Sutton Coldfield, is a qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT) and will be working with SMEs and high-network individuals across the Midlands.
Spencer Gardner Dickins trio Chrissie Duxson, Jasmine Lumby and Jade Spencer have also enjoyed recent exam success.
Duxson has been admitted as a full member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT), Lumby has completed her AAT level 3 qualifications, while Spencer has successfully passed the first stage of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) exams.
Paul Spencer said the firm, based on Coventry Innovation Village, is pleased to be growing ahead of its 10th anniversary.
“From launching with just a handful of staff the firm has grown to be 40-strong,” he said.
“We’ve expanded the team and in turn the office to support this growth and presence across the West Midlands and bringing Jayne in to be part of the team will only serve to strengthen our offering even further.
“Supporting the development of our team is hugely important to us and we congratulate Chrissie, Jasmine and Jade on their recent exam successes and look forward to them being part of the firm’s future as we move into our second decade.”
