Leading property consultant CBRE has announced it has expanded its Property and Asset Management department, reflecting the firm’s growing portfolio of managed properties.
Lynne Keenan has been appointed as a director and will become head of the team, covering CBRE’s Scottish offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen. Joining from Cushman & Wakefield, Lynne will focus on developing the team and their skillsets as well as maintaining and growing the firm’s impressive lineup of clients, which include MEPC, Aberdeen Asset Management, Royal Liver, and Lloyds Banking Group, through an extensive business development programme.
Senior surveyor Mark Hanna has also joined the team from Cushman & Wakefield. Based in the Edinburgh office, Mark’s new role is to primarily look after CBRE Global Investors’ assets in Scotland.
Alongside the existing team which includes James Lynch, Michaela Barton, John McLaughlin and Innes Jackson, Lynne and Mark will use their diverse and varied skillsets to strengthen the firm’s shopping centre management offering.
Lynne Keenan said: “Being part of a well-respected and successful firm like CBRE is a fantastic opportunity for me. The firm’s excellent reputation alone was a big attraction, but the buzz in the industry around its state of the art systems was also of great interest to me.
“I am very much looking forward to not only being part of the team but to also leading the extremely talented group of individuals who will be working with me. I hope to use my experience, contacts and knowledge to further expand the firm’s Property and Asset Management business.”
In addition to the two new external hires, and in response to its 1.6million sq ft property management portfolio in Aberdeen alone, CBRE has further bolstered the team there with senior surveyor Katie Pirie moving internally from the Property and Asset Management team in Glasgow.
In her new role in Aberdeen, Katie Pirie, who is originally from the Aberdeen area but has been working in Glasgow for six years, will be managing properties for CBRE Global Investors and Union Plaza Limited Partnership. Katie is also provides property and asset management advice to the developers at Prime Four Business Park and The Core.
Lynne continued: “The commercial property industry in Aberdeen is bucking the trend, remaining strong and presenting a lot of opportunities. I will be working with Katie and the rest of the team in Aberdeen to help maximise business prospects for CBRE in the management arena.”
Miller Mathieson, managing director of CBRE in Scotland, added: “We are thrilled that Lynne and Mark have joined the team as we continue to increase resources in our key growth areas. Along with Katie, they all bring a wealth of relevant experience and will no doubt make a valued contribution to the firm.”
Derren McRae, managing director of CBRE’s Aberdeen office, commented: “We are delighted that Katie has returned to the North East to further strengthen the offer from the expanding Aberdeen office. In her short time here she has secured some excellent new instructions for the firm and along with the appointments of Lynne and Mark, the team are well placed to further grow the Property and Asset Management business.”
