Grant Thornton UK LLP was awarded ‘Global Firm of the Year’ at the prestigious British Accountancy Awards last week, beating all other major firms.
The award was voted for solely by the readers of Financial Director who were asked to rate the competing firms based on a number of criteria, including knowledge of sector, innovation, strength of relationships and project management skills.
Commenting on the win, Norman Armstrong, Partner at Grant Thornton in Southampton, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded ‘Global Firm of the Year’. This recognises both the strength of our firm and that of the Grant Thornton global organisation, which has grown at a significant and faster rate than our major peers. This is a result of the quality of the advice and service that Grant Thornton delivers to dynamic businesses across the globe.
“It is particularly heartening that this award was judged by the financial directors and CFOs of the businesses we work with on a daily basis, rather than by a panel. We strive to develop and build trusted relationships with our clients by providing advice and counsel that goes above and beyond. This award is a clear recognition of the strength of these relationships.”
Accountancy Age editor Kevin Reed said: “Congratulations to Grant Thornton UK LLP on a great achievement at the British Accountancy Awards. We had an excellent response to our comprehensive survey of FDs and CFOs on their thoughts of the six biggest firms, and Grant Thornton should be rightly proud of coming out on top.”
