Worcestershire entrepreneurs in the ‘Dragon’s Den’

Four innovative Worcestershire businesses had the opportunity to pitch their investment opportunities as part of a ‘Dragon’s Den’ style event held in the University of Worcester’s Business School.

The event was facilitated by Roy Irish, Chair of the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership’s Access to Finance Strategy Group.

An audience of more than 30 potential investors weighed up the pros and cons of the diverse proposals:

– Exhibit 3D: web portal and software to enable museums and educational establishments to create their own 3D exhibits;
– Translution: innovative website translation services;
– Billian: providers of recycled additives to produce more efficient and affordable asphalts;
gigit: developers of a free live event photography app

Gary Woodman, Executive Director at Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, attended the event and said: “It was fascinating to hear investment proposals from these four very different county based businesses. I am sure that the investors who were present in the room will be very interested in the opportunities available and I wish them all every success.”
He continued: “Worcestershire LEP has identified ‘Access to Finance’ as one of its key strategic objectives. By supporting events such as this ‘Dragon’s Den’, we are creating real opportunities for businesses to meet genuine investors.”

The event was organised and hosted by the University of Worcester as part of its Worcestershire Futures Week. It was supported by the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership and Worcestershire Ambassadors.
