CBRE’s Building Consultancy Project Group has recently appointed Peter Dijkhuis as Director of Master Planning. Dijkhuis has over 25-years’ experience of the planning and development sector in the UK and Ireland, and for Middle Eastern clients. He joins from SKM Colin Buchanan where he was Technical Director of Master Planning and Urban Design.
Dijkhuis will use his planning policy expertise to facilitate public/private partnership development and will work with CBRE’s extensive investor contacts to facilitate funding. He will focus specifically on ensuring that the schemes which come forward in the post-recessionary climate are both viable and deliverable.
Dijkhuis’ past projects include the Gross Value Added economic assessment in relation to HS2 for Old Oak Common for the GLA, TfL and four London Boroughs; Gosport Waterfront delivery and feasibility strategy for Gosport Borough Council; submission of evidence at the Examination in Public for the Portsmouth Local Plan (adopted); and various large-scaled masterplans including SmartCity Kochi (India), a development masterplan for SmartCity Dubai and the State Government of Kerala; a 14,000ha Shuwaikh commercial masterplan for Kuwait Municipality; and the Waqf Al-Sharif masterplan for a circa 25,000 residential-lead scheme in the Holy City of Makkah.
David Hitchcock, Head of UK and EMEA Building Consultancy commented, “I am really delighted to welcome Peter to our growing team. We are seeing a noticeable increase in development activity across the country as economic conditions and confidence improves. However, it is imperative that master plans are both viable and appropriate to make schemes fly.
“Peter has a wealth of experience in this area and is a great addition to our team further enhancing our ability to advise our clients in all aspects of development leading to successful outcomes.”
