A seminar about property tax and its potential pitfalls is being held near Southampton on December 3.
The complimentary event, from 8am to 10.30am, is being held by the South Coast office of Smith & Williamson, the accountancy and investment management group.
Aimed at property investors, developers and companies considering property transactions, it takes place at Best Western Chilworth Manor Hotel, Chilworth.
Julie Mutton, partner in assurance and business services at Smith & Williamson in Southampton, pictured, said: “Our seminar will look at current tax issues and opportunities to be aware of, as well as the pitfalls to avoid to ensure that your taxation liability is managed as efficiently as any other business overhead.
“We will also look at the upcoming major changes in accounting brought by FRS 102, the single accounting standard coming into effect for accounting periods beginning on or after 1st January 2015.
“Not only will this have an impact on the taxes that you pay, it will also have an impact on the accounting profits you report.”
Other speakers are Trevor Hayman, corporate tax associate director, and VAT partner Ian Stinson.
