New Coventry branch chair of the Chamber

A Coventry businesswoman has taken up a new role to help champion the cause of firms in the city.

Sandra Garlick, the Principal at De Marco Solicitors, is the new chair of the Coventry branch of the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce – taking over from Dhiran Vagdia, of Vagdia and Holmes, who has come to the end of his stint.

Sandra, who has played an active role in the Chamber in recent years, paid tribute to her predecessor and said she wanted to continue to build the strength of the branch.

She said: “I am very pleased to become the new chair of the branch because I am very passionate about Coventry and its business.

“Dhiran has been, and remains, a great ambassador for the city and particularly for the importance of construction to the wider economy.

“He will continue to play a very active part in the branch committee as we all look to highlight the needs of companies to help make Coventry an even better place to do business.

“From my point of view, I see huge potential for the city to grow economically and business has to be at the forefront of that.

“We all know the issues – the city centre, skills, housing, to name but a few – and this branch, as well as the wider Chamber, wants to work with the City Council and other partners to find solutions that benefit the whole city.”

Sandra launched De Marco Solicitors in 2007 and has been expanding the business since.

It is now highly renowned in the Legal 500 and has solicitors in Coventry, Warwickshire and Oxfordshire.
