An expanding project management company has masterminded its own move to a new home in Warwickshire.
Parkwood Consultancy Services has amalgamated its two offices in Stratford-upon-Avon and Rugby and brought both teams together under one bigger roof at newly-refurbished offices at Stoneleigh Park.
The relocation will enable the company, which has almost doubled in size in the last three years, to fulfil its growth plans.
Parkwood Consultancy Services, a division of Parkwood Holdings plc, is a leading provider of bespoke environmental consultancy and project management services for sports and leisure, environmental, landscape and crematoria sectors.
It works on a wide range of projects from small scale surveys to the construction of multi-million pound facilities and its landscape designs at Kings Heath Village Square in Birmingham and Wyre Forest Crematorium in Worcestershire have recently won awards.
The move to Stoneleigh Park was prompted by the company’s acquisition of landscape architecture firm Roger Griffiths Associates based in Rugby in October 2012.
Jackie Evans, managing director of Parkwood Consultancy Services, said: “We had previously consulted staff at our Stratford office to identify ways of making the working environment a better place.
“The acquisition of Roger Griffiths Associates gave us the opportunity to look for new premises that were between Stratford and Rugby and better suited our business needs.
“We have a lot of nationwide contracts and the central location of Stoneleigh Park enables us to access most of the major road networks. It is also a very pleasant site set in a rural and character environment with a farm shop and café as well as important facilities like ample parking.”
The two-storey building underwent a major refurbishment which included meeting the company’s environmental specifications such as the installation of an air source heat pump, comfort cooling system and cycle racks.
Jackie added: “To have that flexibility in deciding the internal layout with a mix of open plan and contained offices and the environmentally friendly systems was a fantastic luxury and we are really pleased with the result.
“We have nearly doubled the size of the company in the last two or three years due to a general increase in economic activity in the areas we work. We have a growth strategy in place and this building will give us the space and flexibility we need.”
Colin Hooper, estates director at Stoneleigh Park, said: “The building had been derelict for some time and it has been great to work with Parkwood Consultancy Services to bring it back to life and to such high environmental standards with a range of energy efficient systems.
“The company’s relocation here is a significant development in terms of LaSalle Investment Management’s plans to revitalise Stoneleigh Park as a centre for agriculture, rural business, science and innovation.
“Parkwood Consultancy Services is the third new tenant, and the largest, to Stoneleigh Park this year and we look forward to its future growth here.”
Stoneleigh Park is part of Business Environment for Science and Technology (BEST) Network, the largest privately-owned portfolio of science and technology parks in the UK which has been brought together by LaSalle.
