Six new joiners create a 45-strong tax team, 14 more join firm to top 160 employees

BDO’s Southampton office has recruited a total of 20 new staff in the last two months, including six in the tax team, bringing the tax department’s total headcount to 45 and the office’s to over 160.

Partner and head of accountancy and business advisory firm BDO LLP in Southampton, Malcolm Thixton says, “The region’s businesses have remained relatively buoyant throughout the recession and, as many are now experiencing growth, it is critical that they have the support of specialists on their doorstep. As more of the region’s businesses start to trade internationally, they need high quality provision from people they know and trust, and that’s precisely what we offer.”

Tax Partner

Together with partners Stuart Lisle (corporate), and Andrew Lines (private client) Jane has ambitious plans for the further growth and development of the team.

“The need for specialist tax support is growing in the region as more and more of our entrepreneurs grow to a significant size,” she says. “It is crucial that businesses of all sizes have access to the best advice as they grow. I relish the prospect of supporting BDO clients in their future development.”
