Cushman & Wakefield, the world’s largest privately held commercial real estate services firm, today announced that Justin Taylor, Partner and Head of UK Retail has been appointed Head of Retail, EMEA with effect from January 1st 2014.
Justin will continue to head the firm’s highly successful UK retail team and succeeds John Strachan in leading the 450-strong European retail team across the EMEA region. John Strachan continues in his role as Global Head of Retail at Cushman & Wakefield.
Justin will oversee the EMEA retail leadership team comprising of senior experts; Christian Dubois, France; Jonathan Hallett, Central Europe; Boris van Haare Heijmeijer, Belgium; Arjen Boesveldt, The Netherlands; Thomas Casolo, Italy; Marc Alfken, Germany; Maxim Karbasnikoff, Russia; Mark Burlton, Cross Border tenant rep and John Strachan, Head of Global Retail.
Justin Taylor joined Cushman & Wakefield in 1981 and has specialised in retail agency, occupier, development and shopping centre leasing across the UK and internationally throughout his career. He was appointed a member of Cushman & Wakefield UK Board in 2011 and became head of the firm’s award-winning UK Retail & Leisure team in 2012. Highlights for the UK team to date this year include: closing retail investment deals worth in excess of £1.5 billion, securing 10 new shopping centre leasing mandates, acting for 40 international retailers making their debut in the UK and being named joint property advisor on more than 1 million sq ft of retail and leisure space at the iconic Battersea Power Station.

Cushman & Wakefield’s retail team advises on more than 350 shopping centres in Europe and is retained adviser to around 200 retailers. In 2012, Cushman & Wakefield transacted €4 billion of retail investment deals in EMEA.
