A diverse range of Nottingham businesses have shown their support for the newly launched Opportunities Fund charity and pledged to help local community projects.
These ‘early adopters’ include; CPMG architects, E.ON, Arch Communications, AST Language Services Ltd and Mediabox Productions. The Opportunities Fund has helped match these businesses with local charity projects that they have supported with financial donations or with professional services.
The Opportunities Fund was launched to match businesses to small, local charity projects, where they can make a beneficial contribution. The projects currently supported by businesses include; lego therapy sessions for children with autism, the production of a film to help tackle drug addiction, dance sessions for older people at their local community centre and leadership activities for young Scouts from the Meadows in Nottingham.
Kathryn Markham, Executive Director of the Opportunities Fund said, “We’ve been pleased to see such a diverse range of businesses supporting projects. These early adopters are making a real difference to small, local charities who rely on external support to continue the valuable work they do in their communities. We would encourage any business that is keen to put something back into Nottinghamshire to contact us as we have a diverse range of projects that would benefit hugely from their support. Supporting these very local charities is a great way to improve Nottinghamshire as a place to do business and motivate employees.”
Andrew Schlich, managing director of AST Language Services Ltd said; “Getting involved in this project is a great motivator for our staff as it shows we are a caring company and this creates a positivity and team spirit amongst our employees. There are so many deserving charities out there it’s hard to know where to start. Working with The Opportunities Fund made the whole process of selecting a charity and getting involved easy and it’s good to know the project we have funded is right on our doorstep.”
