National property and construction consultancy Wakemans has been appointed on Two Glass Wharf, a prestigious £35million office scheme which could be the first speculative office scheme to start on site in Bristol since the downturn.
Wakemans is acting as quantity surveyor and employer’s agent on behalf of developer Salmon Harvester Properties (SHP) on the 100,000 sq ft scheme. The project is located on the waterfront within Bristol’s enterprise zone and includes ancillary retail and restaurant use alongside the speculative office accommodation.
The 0.3 acre site was previously owned by Castlemore Securities and bought out of administration in 2010 by SHP, a joint venture between Salmon Developments PLC and National Farmers Union Mutual Insurance Co Ltd.
Ground works for a basement car park and new ground floor slabs are already completed and the project started on site this summer.
“We are delighted that this development is now going ahead,” says Wakemans managing director John Woodhall. “We are seeing increased activity in the area and this could mark the beginning of new phase of development in Temple Quay.”
